SOVEREIGN HOTEL
AN AWARD WINNING, HISTORIC RENOVATION
Constructed in the early 1920’s, the Sovereign Hotel is a nine-story multifamily housing building. Winning the 2018 Daily Journal Of Commerce (DJC) Project of the Year, this historic renovation included 18,000 sq ft of LVT in addition to tile work and floor leveling.
This major renovation required our team to both select and install new tile to match the design team’s vision and the historic bathrooms as well as patch and repair the existing tile work.
Before we even got started we worked to level the floors in all of the 45 apartment units. The flooring selected required a variation no greater than ¼” over 10 feet. Since the floors were out of level there was extensive work required to ensure the project’s success.
